Job Summary: Fish Health Practitioner

This role is mainly about keeping fish healthy and preventing diseases. You don’t need to be a fish expert yet. If you have a medical or biological background and are willing to learn, the company will support your growth.

Job Details:

  • Position: Fish Health Practitioner / Veterinarian / Nurse / Biologist
  • Vacancies: 1
  • Location: Kamembe, Rusizi District
  • Contract: 2 years (renewable)
  • Supervisor: Managing Director

Main Duties 

Fish Health Monitoring

You will regularly check the fish to see if they are healthy. This includes watching for:

  • Disease signs
  • Stress
  • Unusual behavior

Early checks help reduce losses and increase profits.

Laboratory and Sampling Work

You will do basic lab work, such as:

  • Collecting fish samples
  • Using a microscope
  • Preparing samples for tests
  • Simple microbiology work

These skills are useful even outside of fish farming.

Disease Treatment

When fish get sick, you will help:

  • Identify the disease
  • Suggest the right treatment
